World History vs American History

The Thanksgiving Holiday is behind us.  I keep seeing articles referring to this Holiday as a racist/nazi holiday. The Pilgrams were evil invaders, we as a nation have collective guilt, blah, blah.  Let’s go back to ancient Egypt, the Hebrews were enslaved for over 400 years.  How many nations and peoples did the Egyptians conquer?  Nubia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran and Iraq.  Not to mention reaching into Asia.  How many were conquered by Alexander the Great?  Persia, Babylon, Greece City States and Asia.  The Norse and the Normans conquered Britian between 700AC-1100ad. The Vikings slipped in a time or two as well.  England conquered Ireland and Scotland for more than a few years.   The Spanish conquered Mexico, South America and parts of the United States.  Hence, so many Spanish speaking peoples.  They no longer speak the native languages, or at least not primarily.  The Soviet Union took over how many small countries after WWII?  China wants Taiwan back and hates Japan for it’s terrible part in WWII.  Let’s don’t even go to Germany’s history. Should we call all of these nations to account for what happened hundreds of years ago?  Should they all pay reparations for what they have done?

Human history is what it is.  We can move forward and unite or sit and whine about who did what to whom.  The Pilgrims ran from religious oppression, starting  a new nation. Not a perfect nation, not a perfect history.  What other country would you rather live in on this earth?  I am not going to bow down and listen to stupid, divisive, racist talk about Thanksgiving.  They were simple people, giving thanks for their new freedoms.  We should all be giving thanks for those freedoms and be doing what we can to ensure them to our future generations.

Women’s Vote For Liberal Progressivism

The feminist liberal progressive women leave me cold. I can’t identify with them at all. Like with unions, there was a time when reform was needed.  The original intent of course was equal rights.  Though all Americans were supposed to have equal rights under the law, it wasn’t always the case when it came to female autonomy.  Equal rights has somehow morphed into the “right” to have taxpayer funded  birth control, including abortion on demand.  Women were fighting against the patriarchal society.  The 1970′s women felt they could open their own doors and pay their own way. They wanted independence. Yet somehow this movement has regressed and instead of ourselves, our husbands or fathers taking care of us, these liberal women are demanding that their fellow citizens provide what they think they are entitled to.  How is this progressive?  How is this independent?  It’s a very childish and ego-centric demand. ”My Body. My Life. My Choice.”  The key word, “my” says it all.  These women want choice in all things with no cost and no consequences.  Rush Limbaugh hit it on the head today.  He said, “women don’t need husbands anymore, they are now married to the state.”  He is not far off. Housing, food, daycare, schooling, utilities, birth control and now no work requirement for these entitlements. This isn’t a safety net, it’s a cage.  Once you get in, you are not getting out.  Sounds an awful lot like patriarchy to me.  Yeah, we’ve come a long way baby.

VP Debate: Which way did Biden push independents?

As a 46 yr old adult with a career, family and mortgage I have to say I can’t believe that Joe Biden turned many independents toward his ticket.  He was rude, weird and overbearing. To come to a debate and condescend to Paul Ryan like he was a little kid was  insulting beyone belief.  What Biden doesn’t realize is that we, the new middle aged are tired of being talked down to by the government, our aging parents and the liberal media.  Any mature, rational person knows it’s not what you say, but HOW you say it, that matters most.  Biden’s intent was to belittle and disrespect.   (What he clearly is oblivious to is how his behavior will affect people in the 35-45 age range)  It’s fine in a debate to refute what is being said. What is not ok is to intentionally demean and disrespect the person who said it.  Any salient points Biden had were lost in his overbearing condescension.  Winning and losing in a debate is a subjective determination.  Biden’s interruptions and disrespect were directed at everyone who disagrees with him not just Paul Ryan.

Full Body Scans Installed in Vans and Cruising the Streets

Beware of the government sending out it’s vans now outfitted with the full body scanning technology that is being installed at airports. They can drive around and look in your car, purse, home and underwear.  This story is so creepy that it makes George Orwell’s 1984 look like freedom.  This most definitely falls under the umbrella of warrant less search and seizure.  Send this link out to everyone you know.  Notice that no one is talking about it yet on the news or on talk radio.  This is beyond anything they could do in the old Soviet Union or in present day China.

USA Islamophobic? Are there any Christian churches in Mecca?

It’s actually incredibly amusing to listen to Muslims on the news accuse Americans of hating Muslims because the majority opposes the Mosque being built so close to ground zero.  Exactly how many Hindu temples, Jewish synagogues or Christian churches are being built in Medina  or Mecca? How many non-Muslims or as they are referred to, “infidels” are allowed to  visit those cities?  Zero, that’s how many.  Get on line and research how Christians are treated in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey or Syria.  Do they have freedom of worship?  Can they evangelize?  No they cannot.  Jews don’t evangelize in any case but they aren’t building any synagogues in those nations.  Turkey has to give Christians special permissions to worship at historical sites.

I just learned something about this spell checking software.  If you do not capitalize Muslim, Hindu or Jewish they are flagged as a spelling errors.  If you don’t capitalize Christian it is not flagged as an error.  That should tell the readers something about who programmed this and what their ideas are on the importance of Christianity.  I wonder what MS Word does?  Anyone know?
